Description:
Arabic manuscript on paper; text written in bold black ink in a regional script, with red vocalization marks. Verses separated by clusters of yellow dots outlined in red, and surah headings in red ink. The manuscript exhibits traditional Sub-Saharan decorative elements, including geometric motifs and marginal devices in red and yellow. Housed in a traditional leather binding with a flap, showing signs of age and use consistent with its origin.​

This manuscript reflects the distinctive manuscript culture of Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly the Barnawi script tradition associated with Northern Nigeria. The use of vibrant colors and geometric ornamentation is characteristic of Qur’anic manuscripts from this region and period.​
